Return to meet the Girls

Hello to all of you who have been following our website during this trip to Mexico. We felt, as you had met the boys who are on the ranch in the children's home on a previous page, that we should close our mission trip this year by introducing you to the girls that we have learned to love.

Some of them, of course, we know better than others as I teach typing to seven of them and the little ones like Diana and Vanessa are always ready for a hug. Hopefully next year we will have at least 3 more in the typing class and get the know the rest better.

It is going to be hard to leave these children as they have become almost like our family and as you get to know them better their personalities are so different as we all know our own children are. But it is also hard for the children as people come and go here constantly and a few like ourselves return.

The greeting the girl's gave us when we returned this year was so nice for we hardly got to know them last year but as I told my typing class it is in God's will that we now have two homes one in Nova Scotia and one at Rancho Maranatha and if God is willing we will be returning in the fall.

I really want to increase their knowledge of computers because with this and the English lessons that they are getting as they get older it will give them a huge plus in the labour market when they leave here.

We will be leaving in 12 days and it hardly seems that almost 5 months have passed since we got here. We probably will post a short note and a few more pictures just before we leave. Plan to be home the first week in April and our house is always open for coffee and cookies to anyone who wants to come. We have missed you all but then when we get home we will miss Rancho Maranatha and the children and the wonderful people we have met both long and short term missionaries and the Mexican people.

Please keep us in your prayers for safe travel as 7000km is a long trip and please come and visit us when we come home.
