Overwhelming Giving at Maple Grove
This photo is courtesy of Tina Comeau of the Yarmouth Vanguard. This was Friday, we were leaving on the following Monday. We were overwhelmed by the amount of school supplies that we received from the students at Maple Grove. We had the back of the truck about a third filled with just scribblers (notebooks), then there were the eight to ten boxes of pencils, pens, math sets, erasers, markers, scissors...just about anything that one could think of in that line. It was one of God's miracles that we were able to get it into the camper and bring it here. Remember that we pray for the camper to be larger inside than outside, impossible to us; but, not to God. We also pray that at the border crossings, anything that God does not want to be seen, will be invisible. Both prayers were answered, and these things were such a blessing here this year.
Preparing the Gift Bags
This was the scene outside our camper as we prepared the gift bags for what would end up to be, nearly three hundred needy children at Christmas. There were several out reaches where these were the highlight of the day, maybe even the year for some children.
Who Can Forget Temoris
This is the Sunday school class at Temoris, in the mountains of Chichuahua that received a box of the school supplies, as well as some flannel board teaching aids, and hand knit items from Nova Scotia. Thank you Missionary Mike G. for taking these thing to Pastor Jacobo's Church in this area.
Some of the Hand Knit Items in Temoris
This shows Delfina and Jacobito proudly displaying some of the hand knit items that they were given. In this mountain area, temperatures get quite cold and it snows there most of the time that we receive winter rains here in Alamos, so these items are a real blessing to the people there.
Sorting Clothing...
We did spend quite a bit of time sorting clothing for the outreach or just to find something that some needy child or family could use as we saw the need arise. This was sorting for the two out reaches, one at the brothers and another at Nestor's church in Neuva Creacion. We still have been receiving things from caring people here, some as recent as yesterday, for distribution to needy people or families that we have met here this year.
Dispensa Time Again..
We just seem to be finished with the dispensa run when it is time to do it all again. In this photo Shirley and John prepare the special dispensas that we distributed near to Christmas time. This is a monthly thing that just seems to come all too fast. Many families are looking forward to our monthly visits with these items. Dispensa day never ceases to be a blessing to us.
New Year's Day at the Beach
This was a special day for us as it had been so long since we had been near the ocean. This is also the last time that we have been near it, a situation that we intend to make up for this summer.
The Gift...
We have met a lot of new people this year on the "Mission Field", some have become really good friends. This is the inscription that Lorenzo wrote in the Spanish / English Bible that he gave to us as a gift. The inscription expresses our thoughts and feelings toward our many new hermanos (brothers and sisters) that we have met here this year much better than I could have put it. The second photo is of the Bible verse referred to in the inscription. This is a wonderful gift as we attend church in Spanish so much and this allows us to more easily follow the sermon. Loosely translated it means
Beloved Brothers, it is a great blessing for us to know you and we will miss you a lot. This Bible is given with all our love for you. May God continue to give you health and joy.
Then comes the verse 3 John Verse 2.
