Final Days of Our Ultima Aņo in Alamos
The Advanced Students
These three children, all fifteen years old, came to our camper one day a week for Microsoft Office training, then lunch and a little getting to know them better time. This is their graduation picture taken near our camper.
The Graduation Lunch
This is a photo taken at a local restaurant where we treated these students to a anything you want lunch. Here the chips and salsa have been served and they are eagerly dipping into the goodies.
Meanwhile Back at the Ranch..
We drove the children back to the ranch and visited with the rest of the school. This is the truckfull of Children that wanted a ride home for lunch. I got out of the truck, asked them to say queso Cheese). and this is the result.
Graduation at the School..
This is a very rough panorama of the children and teachers gathered for graduation at the school at the ranch. Stephanie is one teacher and is standing by the door and Joel is on the far right in this composite shot. The presentations that Anahi, Jonny, and Lolita had made in Power Point were presented, and of course there were the certificates awarded to all in our classes.
Monce Gets Her Award
All the children in our classes got awards, this shows Monce receiving her award for course completion.
The Entire School..
This was taken by Stephanie and is a photo of us with the entire school, our students and those of Marilu, as well as Marilu. Marilu was our last year's graduate and has been teaching a class of the younger students this year, as well as giving extra classes in basic computer. Did I mention that she is also trying to complete her high school. She is very busy, but does a great job at the school.
Restaurante Night ...Dinner is Prepared
As they did last year, the children and Joel and Stephanie, did a restaurante night. This year's twist was a dinner theatre. The play was written by Joel, with help on the fine points of the Spanish by Stephanie and Lolita.
The Tables are set up..
The dinner and play were presented in the courtyard, with the stage being on the portello on one side.
Dinner was Served..
This is our table as dinner was served. It was great and at a really good price as well.
The Performance was Great..
This is a scene from the play. It was based on the prodigal son story from the Bible. All in all a great night, with the children learning a great deal about the work involved in such a project. Thanks to Stephanie and Joel for their dedication to these children.
